Bristol Rovers have told a court that it would be a 'financial catastrophe' if Sainsburys do not complete the deal to buy their stadium as they plan a new ground, and that the court must force the supermarket to complete the deal rather than impose damages. The club are accused of changing the terms of the contract over a levy imposed by the local Council, an accusation a club director admitted, and the case continues.
Port Vale owner Norman Smuthwaite says the club has had to slash the wage bill for next season or their future would have been in doubt.
