Macron Men Used To Manage Neath

As reported earlier Hereford FC will be using Macron kit this coming season and on line sales will be conducted through an on-line site hosted by Macron in Neath.

The two 'Macron Men' involved in the deal with Hereford FC are Andy Dyer and Ray Pennock (brother of former Hereford United keeper Tony Pennock) who were manager and assistant manager respectively of Neath until they parted company with the club in May 2011. They are now with Port Talbot.

Dyer was understood to have been friendly with former Hereford United manager Simon Davey who had once worked in the Swansea/Neath area.

A friendly was arranged between the two clubs in July 2010 shortly after Davy was put in charge.

It was thought then that chairman David Keyte might have moved to Macron kit but he stayed with Admiral until in 2012 he changed to Errea.

Hereford United used to sell the kit from Edgar Street but in 2011 decided to move on-line sales to ID Sports a company run by Keyte's son Simon. Both father and son were directors of the company.

Reasons for the change were said to be that 'current providers rates are 'quite high' and ID sports would not charge for on-line orders.'

Given that Hereford FC intends to run, at least in the short term, with very few staff, the move to selling kit through a third party on-line store seems sensible.

When Keyte made a similar move, there appeared to be ample staff to deal with any orders.
