Norton United have announced their resignation from the Northern Premier League. The mid-table Step 4 side say that rent demands on their home ground by the Miners Welfare trustees will mean a £20,000 commitment next season, something the club cannot afford. They had previously seen several Directors quit after being locked out of their clubhouse before Christmas.
Ebbsfleet have been given the go ahead to develop a new main stand at Stonebridge Road, and have also received outline agreement to develop the other three sides. The £3.5million plans will see the ground eventually hold 6,000 spectators with 2,000 seated, and add a string of non-footballing facilities to the stadium.
