Lonsdale Claims Owners 'Not Fully Aware Of Financial Position'

Andy Lonsdale, a director of Hereford United (1939) Limited, has been interviewed by the Official Receiver according to a letter sent to creditors of the company.

He stated that the company traded as a football club.

He states that the company was purchased in approx May 2014 and the new owners were not fully aware of the financial position of the company at the time of purchase.

When the volume of creditors became known it was apparent that the company could not satisfy its financial obligations.

As a result HMRC petitioned for the winding up order.

The OR has said that he 'will be pleased to receive from creditors useful information concerning the company, its dealing or property, together with particulars of any written or oral statement as to matters for further explanation or enquiry'.

As yet it's thought neither of the two other directors, John Edwards and Elke Thuerlings, has been interviewed by the OR.

The OR has included an Information Sheet in its letter to creditors.

In essence this sheet details examples of information which might be of interest to the OR. Creditors are asked to report 'possible breaches of the insolvency legislation'.

They include: Continuing to trade beyond a point when the directors knew or should , due to creditors pressure, that the company was insolvent, thereby causing increased debts to creditors.
