Bulls Put Four Past Arlesey

Hereford's Starting XI
Hereford United ran out easy winners against a poor Arlesey Town side at Edgar Street this afternoon.

Three goals in eight minutes half way through the first half sealed the game and many felt Jon Taylor's side might have scored several more given the chances they created.

Taylor made two chances from the side that won at Totton last Saturday. Recalled to the starting XI were Obi Onyeike and Louis Cutajar whilst Aboudakar Kone was on the bench and Dan O'Reilly dropped.

Heavy morning rain made the pitch somewhat slippy but from the first kick, Hereford adapted to the conditions better than their opponents.

On 22 minutes Hereford took the lead.

Serge Mor Diop With Hereford's First Goal
Steve Vetier fired a shot from around 25 yards which hit the near post and rebounded to Serge Mor Diop who made no mistake from close range.

A Second For Mor Diop
Four minutes later poor defending allowed Mor Diop to score Hereford's second. The goal came from a ball played forward by Bilal Yafai.

Then two minutes afterwards Hereford made it three when a mix-up between the Arlesey keeper Thompson and defender Warren Plowright saw the ball run into the back of the net. It was credited as an own-goal by Plowright.

After half time Arlesey looked somewhat brighter and on 49 minutes did score what turned out to be no more than a consolation goal.

Luke Williams in the Hereford goal couldn't quite deal with a shot from Mark Gallagher. The rebound fell to the striker who made no mistake from around 15 yards out.

Hereford regrouped quickly and had the majority of possession from this point.

Joshua Hawker (4) Scored Hereford's Fourth Goal
On 72 minutes Joshua Hawker scored Hereford's fourth after an effort from Mon Diop wasn't dealt with by Thompson.

This was an encouraging performance by Hereford, albeit against poor opposition, in readiness for another home game on Tuesday evening when Dorchester are the visitors.

The attendance was given as 279 with few if any away supporters in the count.

Despite the three points Hereford remain in 16th position with 23 points from 20 games.
