Mansfield Town F.C. can confirm that winger/forward Sam Clucas is set to sign for Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee.
The Spireites improved their initial bid for the player, who made it clear during discussions that he wasn’t going to sign a new contract when his current deal expired at the end of the season and wished to further his career.
The transfer will allow Paul Cox to further strengthen his squad.
Hereford United are due 15% on the profit of any fee the Stags receive for Clucas, after paying £20,000 for him last summer.
