Ten Man Reds Defeat Bulls

Hereford United were defeated by Redditch Town this afternoon at Edgar Street.

The Reds took the lead on 24 minutes when former Bull Ashley Sammons laid on a pass to Hylton whose shot beat Luke Williams.

On 63 minuted the Reds went down to ten men after Jamie Mutton was shown a red card for a rash challenge on Salvador Ramirez.

The Bulls equalised on 68 minutes with a goal from Obe Oneyeike.

Then 12 minutes later Redditch sealed their win when Jamie Spencer was on target from close range.

Bulls manager John Taylor had hoped to take at least four points from the six on offer this weekend, in the event his side gained just one point.

The attendance was just 617 including 94 from Redditch. It was the lowest attendance for an August Bank Holiday for at least 40 years, perhaps many more.

And the number of home supporters at 523 was even less than the 531 who watched the home game against Banbury last Tuesday.

The top gate of the afternoon was at Weymouth where 1509 watched their 2-0 win over Dorchester.

Meanwhile there were two high scoring games in the League. Poole put seven past Frome and now top the League and Cambridge City put six past Histon.

Finally Hereford United have dropped to 18th in the table.

Hereford: Williams, Oneyeike, O’Reilly, Oyibo, Gascoigne, Barrientos, Roberts, Ramirez, Mor Diop, Akinde, Bakar-Kone.

Subs Browne for Mor Diop (16), Yafai  for O'Reilly (56), Vetier for Oyibo (57) Not used:  Gregory, Viner.
