A team made up of supporters and former players representing the
Hereford United Supporters Trust is continuing it's alternative fixture
list whilst an official boycott of Hereford United continues.
Members of the Hereford United Supporters Trust voted in favour of a boycott of the club following the take over by London based businessman Tommy Agombar.
Broken promises, secrecy and failure to meet
numerous deadlines that resulted in The Bulls being thrown out of the
Football Conference led to the boycott.
With less than five days to go until the Southern Premier season is set to start, the boycott is still in place.
However, the Supporters Trust Fan Team has continued
to draw in supporters who are still seeking to show their support to
Hereford United, but not the current owners.
Over
650 fans watched a supporters team play Ledbury Town over a week ago,
and on Sunday over 800 fans flocked to Malvern Town to watch a Hereford
United Supporters Trust team take on Worcester City Supporters Trust.
Tonight the Hereford United Fans Team will take on Hereford based side Pegasus Juniors at Old School Lane in a 7:30pm KO.
Pegasus
themselves turned down a friendly against Hereford United 1939 Ltd due
to concerns regarding the current owners at Edgar Street.
MORE ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME
Hereford United Supporters Team travel to Pegasus for what will be their
third away game on the bounce. This time tho, they will be playing at
the ground they will call home after the kind offer from Pegasus to make
old school lane their home for the coming season.
The fans team will be without Eli Drury, who injured his knee in a clash
with Worcester City’s Matt Gardner. Eli had earlier scored two quick
first half goals to get Hereford back into the game.
Tony James will keep his place in the back 4, with Ex United player
Gareth Davies coming in to make His supporters team debut. He will face
stiff competition for that other centre half spot, with the solid Matt
Price putting in two great performances including a man of the match
display at Ledbury.
The fans team also welcomes Luke Brimfield, United in the community
under 14s coach, and Hereford United blind team keeper who should also
be making his debut at Peggy.
Paul Harrison and Joey Pritchard make their debuts as fans, while Neil Phipps comes back into the side, after a 5 year absence.
Tom Burrows and Jack ‘frosty’ Tomlinson return after missing the Worcester Trip.
Pegasus will be without injured Striker Cory Hyde, he suffered injury
during pre season. This will be Pegasus Juniors final friendly before
the season starts on Saturday.
The game kicks off at 7.30, with the admission costing £5 for adults and
£3 for concessions. Gates will open at 6pm with the bar also open from
6.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible, to continue your great support of local football.
