Cash Flow At Edgar Street

One of the more interesting bits of information from yesterday's Hereford United CVA meeting came when director John Edwards explained how the projected cash flow had to be changed.

Edwards explained that the board had hoped that the CVA meeting would have taken place earlier.

"We took the decision that we wouldn't try to attract sponsorship or sell season tickets whilst there was uncertainty."

As regards August 'we and other investors are putting cash into the business as it is required.'

He said that their projections for gate fees had been raised a little. The figures given for the gate 'are real, we don't tell lies'.

"I think if the CVA is approved the gates might increase."

Then Edwards spoke about potential sponsorship.

"We have written offers of sponsorship for £250,000 subject to the decision here."

Edwards said he had spoken to some of his contacts. If successful there would be some well-known names on boards he claimed.

"We have cut our cloth recently ...but with these sponsorships the business will be able to support the CVA."

Edwards was then asked by a creditor if he would show the sponsorship letter to the creditors.

A creditor who read the letter then said the £250K offer was 'not credible. The media value against the number of people coming into the ground is a tiny fraction of that.'

Later it was revealed that the letter had come from Belize.
