The
final few full time staff have now departed Edgar Street, namely Roger
Lloyd, Johnny Evans and Lee Symonds. All are owed monies for their time
at Edgar Street, here’s an example of one man’s experience.
Physio Johnny Evans said he had last been paid 30% of his
March wages, leaving the best part of 4 months wages unpaid. He
explained that Roger (kit man) and himself stayed on at the club as
their contracts ended at the end of June. Johnny said that 6 weeks ago
he and Roger had been questioned would they depart if they had their
wages paid to date, they said they would continue and gave their word.
Johnny took a 2 week holiday in early June, but on his return the mood
had changed towards Roger and himself. As June came to a close they were
told that Tommy would be meeting them on the first Tuesday in July to
discuss contracts, so they continued working out of contract.
Subsequently the meeting was cancelled until the Friday, then that
didn’t happen either. On the Friday night Johnny received a phone call
from Jon Taylor explaining that there wouldn’t be new contracts offered,
and that the club would be going part time in the new season. This
meant that Johnny and Roger were now unemployed. Johnny handed the keys
back last Saturday and went to offer his best wishes to Mark Ellis, but
in return received unwarranted verbal abuse. A sad end to his time at
Edgar Street.
100%
of the proceeds of the Henry Cluney gig have been donated to Johnny and
also a kind donation of £100 made earlier in the week. If anyone would
like to assist Johnny then please contact Nibbo via modnite@hotmail.co.uk

Johnny along with ex-members of staff are hoping to attend the
Supporters Trust friendly games along with ex-players such as Steve
Guinan, Wayne Brown, Peter Heritage, Trevor Benjamin, Rob Purdie, Sam
Gwynne and Gareth Davies with more to follow. For some of them their
legs may have gone but their support for the Bulls hasn’t.
