One of two youngsters who signed a contract to stay with Hereford United at the end of last season, Billy Murphy, has moved to Bristol City on a free transfer.
Murphy was watched several times last season by Brian Tinnion who is the Bristol City Youth Director.
“He was excellent for Hereford when they beat MK Dons, Chesterfield and Bournemouth in the Youth Cup, only losing to Manchester City after extra time.
“He’s a left footed central midfielder very much in the box to box mould, and even broke into Hereford’s first team towards the end of last season.”
Had Murphy received his overdue pay from Hereford, they would have been able to ask for a fee.
