Pirates Axe DoF Role

Bristol Rovers have axed Director of Football John Ward following their relegation to the Conference.

In a statement, the club say the position 'is no longer viable' as 'radical changes need to be made to the structure of the club'. Ward was previously manager of the Pirates for 18 months, before moving upstairs in March.

Manager Darrell Clarke is expected to remain in place after doubts over his future at the weekend.
