No Penalties For The Bulls

Club Historian Ron Parrott has been investigating after the Bulls went the entire 2013/14 season without scoring a penalty.

The last spot kick the Bulls had was against Tamworth back in March 2013 - 51 Conference games ago. Ron says the failure to score a penalty in a season has happened three times before:

'The short answer is yes, it has actually occurred three times before. The first was 81 years ago in the Birmingham League in the 1932/33 when there were only 34 League games played and the feat was repeated five years later, again in the Birmingham League, when only 26 League games were played.

It will surprise many fans that the third and most recent time that this phenomenon occurred was as recently as 2002/03, when the Bulls finished 6th in a full Conference season of 42 matches.'
