News Round-Up

Former Bulls defender Darren Jones is expected to sign for Newport in the next few days after turning down a new deal with Wimbledon. The 30 year old joined the Dons from Shrewsbury in January on a short term deal but is set to join his hometown club for a second time. Halifax striker Lee Gregory is reported to be considering a contract offer from MK Dons. The 25 year old is likely to cost £200,000 according to press speculation.

Kidderminster have signed striker Craig Reid on a two year deal. The 28 year old was released by Stevenage last week, having signed for them earlier in the year after leaving Southend. Former Bulls striker Nathan Elder says he wants to stay at Dover for the coming season. The much travelled 29 year old says he is yet to hear of a new deal after netting their promotion winner against former club Ebbsfleet.

Former Bournemouth owner Eddie Mitchell has confirmed that he has held talks about possible investment into Salisbury. Mitchell sold his stake in the Cherries to a Russian millionaire less than a year ago and has already been linked with a bid for Yeovil. The owners of Wrexham's ground are to embark on a £300,000 summer improvement plan. A new pitch, changing rooms, and floodlights will be installed in a bid to return the Racecourse to a standard that it can again host Wales home games.

Bristol Rovers' plans for a new stadium are on hold again after an application was submitted to English Heritage to get their existing ground listed as a war memorial. The Memorial Ground's gates are already listed as a memorial to local soldiers but the unnamed applicant wants the entire stadium listed in the increasingly bitter battle between the club and local residents, who have already failed in a string of legal moves to block development.

Kidderminster have added a second striker to their ranks with the signing of Forest Green forward Reece Styche on a two year deal. The 25 year old ended the season on loan at Wycombe but failed to seal a permanent deal after failing to score in 14 appearances. Halifax have confirmed the departure of defender Ryan Toulson, while club captain Danny Lowe is also leaving. Lowe, 30, missed much of the season through injury.
