Supporters At Swansea |
£1743 was raised.
My son and I were two of the supporters who attended the
Swansea v Southampton yesterday to hold a bucket collection in aid of
The Bulls.
We were all struck by just how welcoming and generous everyone was. The
fact
that Swansea understood our situation, having ‘been there themselves’
particularly helped and many of their fans all had a story to tell about
Hereford United.
The money raised will be counted over the coming days! Big thanks to
Gareth
Field for creating the seed and organising this. It was a real shame
that he
wasn't able to join us on the day.
Yesterday’s visit also
highlighted the differences between us and Premier League clubs, from the Ferrari
and Maserati cars in the car park, to the away fans all being treated to free
food, a scarf, a mask and subsidised travel. We were all treated to seats
in the West Stand and had a great view of the match. The game seemed to
be heading towards a draw until Rickie Lambert scored a very bizarre goal right
at the death.
After the match we were able to go pitchside and got to meet a
few of the Swansea players. We got back to Hereford about 8:30pm, tired but
pleased with our efforts.
