Results Round-Up - Tamworth Down

Tamworth's relegation was confirmed today as they lost 2-0 at Southport, and the Lambs will finish 23rd regardless of any further results this season. The Bulls drop into the bottom four after a late Aldershot equaliser saw them draw 1-1 with Macclesfield to move up to 20th, level on points with Peter Beadle's side but with a far better goal difference. Dartford are a point behind in 22nd after a 1-0 home loss to Forest Green, while Chester are a point ahead of the Bulls after a 2-1 loss at Grimsby.

At the top, Luton's title celebrations are on hold after a surprise 3-2 home loss to Braintree, with the visitors having their keeper sent off also. Cambridge closed the gap with a 7-2 demolition of Hyde, with Andy Pugh netting four of the goals. Grimsby are third after their win, five points inside the play-off zone, with Gateshead three points inside after their win at Edgar Street. Halifax occupy the final spot by two points after a 4-0 win at Barnet that sees the Bees drop to five points off the pace. Kidderminster beat Welling 2-0 to move within six points, while Alfreton lost 2-1 at Woking to move four points adrift of fifth place. In the other games Lincoln won 2-1 at Salisbury, and Wrexham beat Nuneaton 3-0.

At the foot of League Two, Torquay won 2-1 at Bristol Rovers to close their gap to seven points with four games left. Northampton are level on points with Wycombe, and only one away from the Pirates, after a 1-0 home win over Burton, with the Chairboys losing 2-0 at Newport. Portsmouth won 4-1 at Dagenham to move five points clear of danger, with Exeter slipping back into trouble after a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham.
