Torquay are set to be relegated today from League Two.
The Gulls are five points adrift at the foot of the table, and failure to beat mid-table Mansfield today will confirm their relegation to the fifth tier for a second time. They spent two seasons from the summer of 2007 in the Conference, beating Cambridge in the play-off final to return to League Two.
Manager Chris Hargreaves was part of that promotion side, joining following their drop, but his return as boss in January has not brought about a strong enough upturn in form. He has won just six of his 20 games in charge to leave the Gulls on the verge of the drop.
The other relegation place could be filled by one of seven teams. Northampton currently occupy the spot, level on points with Wycombe and Bristol Rovers but with a far worse goal difference. Also in danger are Hartlepool, Accrington, Exeter, and Morecambe.
