Back Beadle's Bulls

New London Bulls co-ordinator Adam Peters gives Bulls News his views on recent events at Edgar Street:

Never has the “Manager of the Month” curse been so stark!

I must say the news came as a bit of a shock in light of the financial implications associated with removing a manager these days, and we all know we’ve already had our fair share of trouble with that. Despite the tough conditions Foyle was working under, it was clear that fans were slowly losing faith in him and his recent style of football.

Not only this, but he seemed more and more unhappy in the position as time went on, evident in his post match media interviews. Overall I do think he did a good job all things considered, and I do look back with one or two fond memories under his tenure - the FA cup game against “them up the A49” being the highlight. With things as they were after the AGM on Monday I think all parties realised it is (hopefully) the best for all involved.

Personally I think giving Peter Beadle the job is the right appointment. It’s what the majority of fans want and, if nothing else, it might help put a few more bums on seats provided we can perform reasonably at the weekend.

I have a lot of respect for Beadle taking this position, he has built quite a reputation for himself with the work he has done with the youth side and puts it all on the line to take up what is possibly one of the toughest jobs in football at the minute. This current youth side is a credit to the club and I’m sure Beadle won’t be afraid to throw a few in at the deep end if he feels they are ready.

Beadle has been around the divisions as a player and from what I have seen from his managerial performances, Bulls Player clips and interviews, he seems able to instil confidence, motivate and produce results against more than favourable opposition. If he can coax performances from the senior players akin to those of the youth team we might just be OK come the end of the year... on the pitch at least.

Looking forward to the weekend he knows all about Barnet and Martin Allen which may work to our advantage. I wish him all the best and I know all us London Bulls will be behind him all the way, starting on Saturday.

On the topic of London Bulls, a shameless plug if I may. A bit like the club London Bulls is also under new management. Myself and Robert Jeffery have taken over the reins from Nick Vaughan and all the sterling work he has done since setting the group up almost 4 years ago.

I moved to London from Herefordshire in 2007, Rob followed a year later and we’ve been involved with London Bulls since our first meeting in a Pimlico pub in the Summer of 2009. Alongside Rob, I began to help out co-ordinating events and am now delighted to be given the chance to develop the group further.

I’m sure most of you know who we are and what we do but just to clarify we are an informal group with about 140 subscribers who live in or around London and the South East. We have held quite a few  events and screenings of matches as well as some sponsorship, fundraising and social events.

We also try and coordinate shared travel and pre-match meets before games based in the area. I would like all to invite all Bulls fans, as well as those based daan saaf, to sign up to our emails and come and join us pre-match if traveling to games down here. To do this send an email over to bullsoflondon@gmail.com and please join our Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/BullsofLondon

Pre-Barnet we will be meeting in The Metropolitan next to Baker street station from 12pm. Please feel free to come on down and join us.
