Keyte Still Hopeful Of Satisfying Taxman

Hereford United chairman David Keyte needs to settle the £36,000 tax bill by Monday or face a winding up order. The £36K is in respect of money owed from October and November to HMRC.

"That's the immediate figure," Keyte told BBC Hereford and Worcester late yesterday.

"It's going to go close to the wire.

"If we can't satisfy the court on Monday or before then there's every chance that winding up means winding up, the official receiver, I'm told, is put in and the shutters come down and we don't play Kidderminster on Tuesday."

Keyte reaffirmed the club were cutting their losses which have been around £30K per month.

"We've taken out good people around the offices and things like that, around £8K per month which has helped.

"Another £22K will be into the football department.

"If we were a business trade we would have been consulting by now to say we've got to make some redundancies."
