HFA Appoint Development Officer

The HFA, Herefordshire Football Association, has announced that it has appointed Matt Prosser as its new football development officer.

Matt Prosser has been playing since a young age for teams such as Lads Club, FC Pheonix, Pegasus and in the National Futsal League for both Hereford Futsal Club and Gloucester Futsal Club.  Until recently, Matt has been teaching PE in primary schools across the county for the last year, whilst studying a MA in Sports Development at the University of Gloucestershire, teaching a range of sports including football.

Matt will use his experience as part of the University of Gloucestershire’s Sport Malawi team to bring some fresh ideas on how to develop football in Herefordshire.  As part of the team of students and lecturing staff, he designed and delivered a coach development course to community sports coaches in Malawi, many of which were football coaches.  It was the enjoyment he felt as part of this experience that drove him to study his MA.  Matt said “it was the course that gave me grounding in all the different aspects of sport development which I plan to use to the best of my ability in this post.”

“I am really excited to join the HFA team and am looking forward to making a positive difference to football in Herefordshire”
