Hereford United chairman David Keyte has said that the purchase of season tickets would help 'square the circle' of the club needing to pay its outstanding bills.
"There is a major short-term cashflow short-fall," Keyte told the Hereford Times.
"But in our financial predictions, in particular, for season tickets showed that if we had sold 300 in our 10% discount scheme by May 15th, we would generate enough cash to cover the main bills, which are the PAYE and VAT.
"We hope we can still achieve that.
"I can understand the confidence level...but you can cover your payment by using a credit card if concerned."
The PAYE and VAT bills become due next Tuesday according to Keyte.
"Ideally, we would like to pay that bill as it comes in on May 7th, hence the need for season tickets to be sold."
However it could be another 28 days before HMRC starts winding up proceedings.
In the interview Keyte mentions the possibility of extra investment in the club.
"The overseas investment that was discussed about a month ago is still out there and has taken a frustratingly long time to bear fruit.
"We have had other interest from UK-based investors which has not materialised."
Keyte played down any suggestion that manager Martin Foyle had left Edgar Street which he said had arisen after players were asked to speak to the club, not Foyle, about their personnel financial circumstances.
"It is his 50th birthday which he is spending in Egypt with his family."
Keyte went on to discuss what can be done to help bring in more income. Again a hint of a share issue.
"We have to discuss the detail further but these things can take off within six to eight weeks."
Better news regarding the Starlite Rooms.
"We have a supporters club that is generating £5-6000 per week so the profits from that help us, things like players wages are being covered gradually from that.
"And there is £3,000 from Pell's transfer deal to come."
Overall Keyte says he remains committed to the club.
"The battle is bridging the finances and the time to get there."
