News Round-Up


Tamworth have announced the signing of released Walsall winger Jake Jones after outbidding Lincoln for his services. The 20 year old had previously called his agreement to join Lincoln 'a no-brainer' but changed his mind at the last minute. Former Bull Alan Connell is reported to be a transfer target of Exeter and Plymouth after supposedly being told he will be surplus to requirements if Bradford win their League Two play-off.

Bury's board have released a statement saying they hope to have news on investment into the club shortly. It has been a month since the club announced that it needed £1million 'within days' to survive. Former Bull Stuart Fleetwood has told the Luton press he thinks he can get a club in the Football League following his release. The 27 year old underwent surgery yesterday on a hernia problem, but says he'll be fit in three weeks.

Worcester council has said yesterday's meeting with the club and developer St Modwen was 'really productive'. Talks ended without resolution, with the developer refusing to speak to the BBC about the matter. Forest Green have signed released Fleetwood midfielder Anthony Barry on a three year deal. The 26 year old won the Conference with Accrington in 2006.

Cambridge have continued their early squad building with the signing of winger Mitch Austin from Stalybridge. The 22 year old Australian has played in his home country and Sweden before three years with the Conf North side. Barnet boss Edgar Davids is reported to be interested in coaching Kenyan side Harambee Stars. The claim comes from former Bees midfielder Taiwo Atieno, who is a former Kenyan international.

Luton have signed striker Mark Cullen following his release from Hull. The 21 year old ended the season on loan at Stockport, scoring four times in 16 games. Tamworth have signed striker Deqwon Ebanks for the coming season. The teenager was released by Birmingham this summer after completing a scholarship.
