While Mansfield moved into top spot in the Conference, Stockport just about avoided relegation. The Hatters were, at one stage, a shoe-in for the final relegation place but they equalised against Gateshead to draw 1-1 and Tamworth were pegged back by Ebbsfleet 1-1 to take the Edgeley Park into the final day needing to beat Kidderminster to stand any chance of staying up.
In the televised game, Luton drew with Newport 2-2 to leave them six points behind the Bulls with them also facing Ebbsfleet on Thursday. Forest Green lost 3-2 at home to Dartford to concede seventh place to them, with the Princes Park outfit able to finish sixth if they can better the Bulls' result in Saturday's fixtures. In the other games, Wrexham drew 1-1 with Braintree, and Grimsby won 1-0 at Woking.
In League Two, Aldershot lost 2-0 at home to Southend. They now have two games left to claw back a four point deficit to safety. Torquay beat Barnet 3-2 to leave the Bees a point short of safety in 23rd. Plymouth beat Chesterfield 2-1 to move four points clear.
In League One, Portsmouth and Hartlepool were relegated after son beat father, with Lee Johnson's Oldham beating Gary's Yeovil 1-0.
