Former Bulls defender Darren Peacock is set for his first managerial job with Evo-Stik side Lancaster City.
The Evo-Stik First Division North side have confirmed that 'final talks' are to take place with the former top flight player next week.
Now 45, Peacock joined the Bulls from the bankrupt Newport County in 1989. Quickly being converted from a striker to a central defender by Ian Bowyer, the Bristolian picked up the Player of the Year award in his first full season before a £200,000 move to QPR in 1990 and a £2.7million move to Newcastle four years later.
He retired from playing in 2000 after suffering spinal damage in a game, and has been living in Portugal in recent years.
