Bury boss Kevin Blackwell has told a fans forum that the club allowed full back Joe Skarz to join Rotherham on loan on Thursday as they simply could not afford his wages. Chairman Brian Fenton told the 'stormy' meeting that the club had banked little more than 50% of it's budgeted March income, while he evaded giving a definite answer on whether they could pay the wages for the remainder of the season. They remain under a transfer embargo having taken a PFA loan to cover February's bill.
Local council documents show Crewe's ground as being proposed for demolition as part of a potential redevelopment of the town's railway station. 150 acres around the area are earmarked for a redevelopment if a proposal to add Crewe to the list of stops on the planned HS2 line is approved. The club itself has declined to comment on the matter.
Hyde have announced that veteran defender Mark Allot has quit the club and retired from playing after managing just two games since his January arrival from Chesterfield. The 35 year old will concentrate on his coaching academy.
