Pitch Didn't Help Said Foyle

After this afternoon's 2-2 draw with Southport, Martin Foyle spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It was very very tough," said the Hereford United manager.

"Unfortunately we've made two mistakes, gifted them chances to get a goal.

"But after that we changed.

"The committment was there but you're not going to see an ounce of quality on this pitch.

"The groundsmen has worked very very hard to get this game on but I like to play football  but at the moment you've got to play the pitch. It's not something I want.

"Fair play to Southport they got the lead, they sat back in, they time wasted, kicking the ball away but that's all part and parcel of the game but we've got to understand that.

"But credit to them (Hereford) they got back into it and we did have quite a number of chances on the day.

"They did very well in tough conditions."

Foyle gave new signing Kingsley James (pictured) a place in the starting eleven.

"He's a good footballer.

"I did show him the pitch before I signed him so that was probably a blessing for him.

"He's only 20, he can play quick and he can play simple which is something that we need."

Marlon Jackson can on as one of three subs for the Bulls.

"He gives you that little bit of energy. We had nothing to lose when he can on."

Ryan Bowman was also mentioned by Foyle.

"He had a quiet first half then the goal ignited him, so that gave him a little bit of inspiration.

"Until someone puts in an offer, he's going nowhere."
