Simon Hackney Joins Bulls

Simon Hackney has teamed up with Hereford United.

The 28 year old winger was recently released by Halifax.

Hackney started his career with Woodley Sports before a four season spell with Carlisle United.

In 2009 he moved to Colchester for around £80K and stayed for two seasons during which he went to both Morecambe and Oxford United on loan.

In 2011 he moved to Rochdale. Last July he had a trial at Wrexham before joining Halifax.

Over the years Hackney has featured in several matches against Hereford United including in April 2009 when playing for Colchester. The Bulls lost the game 2-0 and their relegation back to League Two was confirmed.

The following season whilst playing for Morecambe, Hackney supplied the cross to Jim Bentley that gave the Shrimpers a 1-0 victory over the Bulls at Edgar Street.

In February 2011, Hackney came on as a sub for Oxford in a 2-0 victory for the Bulls at the Kassam stadium.

On Tuesday of this week Halifax reported that he had left the Shay.
