Preview: Bulls vs Shrewsbury

The Bulls entertain Shrewsbury Town in a FA Cup First Round match at Edgar Street on Saturday lunchtime.

The two sides exited League Two at different ends last season, with the Shrews doing the double over the Bulls to make it five straight wins in the fixture. The last Bulls victory at Edgar Street was in 2009 when Gavin McCallum and a Ryan Valentine penalty helped the home side record a 2-1 win with future Bull Waide Fairhurst netting for the Shrews.

The Bulls continue their struggle to field a full matchday squad and, like the previous round, are expected to be unable to fill the two extra places on the bench on offer in the FA Cup. The return of Josh O'Keefe and Luke Graham to the ranks last weekend was welcome but rushed, and neither are considered to be fully match fit. ITV sent a camera to Wednesday's quiz to film a preview and interviews with fans and manager Martin Foyle that is expected to air tonight.

Shrews boss Graham Turner is one of nine former Bulls plying their trade up the A49. Along with wall reviewer John Trewick and fitness coach Tony Ford, there are five former Edgar Street players in the squad and Andy Tretton in their Commercial office. All five players have faced their former employers before but it will be a new experience for Hereford-born Aaron Wildig. The 20 year old grew up supporting the Bulls before starting his career with Cardiff.

Hereford United vs Shrewsbury Town, Edgar Street, Saturday 3rd November, 1.00pm.
