Burton are expected to sign Kidderminster keeper Dean Lyness after the Brewers announced they are in talks with the 20 year old. The former Birmingham trainee worked with keeper coach Kevin Poole at St Andrews. Wimbledon have scrapped their reserve side, saying that the new EPPP youth development rules will eventually introduce an under-21 league that they want to participate in.

Yeovil have been accused by Lowestoft Town of breaking a deal to play a pre-season friendly that was agreed when the Glovers signed Curtis Haynes-Brown from the Ryman League side. Lowestoft have referred the matter to the FA after the Glovers claimed that a change of manager meant that they were not given enough warning of the match, despite it being agreed a year ago. The Glovers have signed former Bulls loanee Byron Webster after he agreed to a termination of his Northampton contract.

A statement from Scottish Third Division side Clyde reports that "Scottish football is in a very dark place" over the financial implications of Rangers' insolvency. The statement suggest that SPL chief Neil Doncaster has inferred that the Scottish Football League will not get the £2million a year payment it currently gets if it votes to put the new Rangers side in anything but the First Division. Meanwhile, Scottish FA chief Stewart Regan has backtracked on comments made last night claiming that Rangers' demise could lead to 'social unrest'.

Luton have announced that striker Dan Walker has agreed a new one year deal with the club, less than a week after putting him up for sale after he rejected their offers. Hyde have lost the services of defender Luca Havern after the player opted to sign for Conf North side Altrincham instead. The former Stockport trainee was named as one of the top 20 defenders in the Conference by the NLP.

Mansfield have completed the signing of Wrexham striker Jake Speight for an undisclosed fee. He scored 17 times for the Stags two years ago before moving into the Football League. Gillingham say they have made an offer of payment to Medway Council to settle the outstanding bill for use of their training ground. Gills chairman Paul Scally is due to speak to council officials today.

Lincoln defender Ashley Westwood is set to quit the club after being offered a coaching role with Portsmouth. The 35 year old signed a one year deal with the Imps last month. Alfreton have signed released Nottm Forest midfielder Daniel Meadows on a two year deal. The 19 year old spent a month with the Reds at the end of last season.

Tamworth have signed three new players with strikers Adam Cunnington, Tommy Wright, and midfielder Marcus Kelly all signing one year deals. Wright, 27, spent last season on short term and non-contract deals at four Conference sides. Kelly, 26, and Cunnington, 24, played for boss Marcus Law at Kettering with Cunnington having been released from his deal at Dagenham after failing to make the grade there.

Cambridge are trialling Worcester winger Greg Mills. The 21 year old former Derby trainee only joined Worcester in January after leaving Telford by mutual consent. Wrexham are trialling former Northampton midfielder Kevin Thornton, ex-Tranmere keeper Andy Coughlin, and former Rochdale winger Simon Hackney.

Telford have lost trialist keeper Chris Martin after the former Port Vale man opted to try his luck at Alfreton, while boss Andy Sinton has admitted he lost out to Worcester for striker Danny Glover. Southport boss Liam Watson says he has made a contract offer to Prescot Cables striker Steven Tames, who trialled with Sheff Weds in March. Watson also wants released Blackburn midfielder Zac Aley, but the 21 year old is currently on trial with Accrington.
