Smith Released By Crawley

Former Bulls midfielder Ben Smith is one of seven to be released by Crawley following their promotion to League One.

The former Arsenal trainee, now 33, had spent the last three years with the Red Devils but made only a handful of appearances following their promotion to the League, spending time out on loan this season at Kettering, Woking, and Aldershot.

Also leaving the Broadfield Stadium are fighting defender Pablo Mills, and Conference stalwarts John Dempster, Dean Howell, and Glenn Wilson.

Meanwhile, Burton are to have talks with Tony James over the coming days. They have already released five players today including former Bulls loanee Danny Blanchett and former trialist keeper James Wren, while three others have been offered new deals.

In other ex-Bull news, Shrewsbury have confirmed the release of Lionel Ainsworth this afternoon after the player tweeted the news this morning. Also leaving the club are full back Carl Regan, midfielder Sean McAllister, and keeper Ben Smith.
