Although Wimbledon manager Terry Brown wasn't too impressed with the Edgar Street pitch this afternoon he blamed his team's defeat on poor defending.
"I’m bitterly disappointed but it was never going to be a classic game of football - the pitch was diabolical," Brown told the press after the game.
"I’m not complaining because we knew what to expect and what we were going to come up against.
"It doesn’t matter which way I look at it, there is no way in the world that any team can keep giving the opposition a two-goal start and it happens nearly every week whether it’s on the road or at home.
"The standard of defending is not good enough and that’s something we’ve really got to work at because today we would’ve won an ugly, scrappy game one-nil if we had defended better. Their keeper was a million times busier than our keeper."
