The Bulls are now only goal difference above the drop zone, with both of the bottom two holding games in hand. Dagenham beat Morecambe 2-1 with a late winner to move level on 28 points with the Bulls, one ahead of Northampton, but with four less goal difference. Plymouth conceded a late equaliser to Macclesfield to draw 1-1 and only move a point above the Bulls, with the Silkmen four points clear.

Bradford extended their safety gap to seven with a 4-0 win at Barnet. The Bees had ex-Bull Darren Dennehy sent off in conceding the opener from the spot. In the other games Port Vale drew 1-1 in their derby with Crewe, while Swindon opened a four point gap at the top with a 2-0 win over Burton, their tenth straight win.
