Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has told PA Sport that he thinks young winger Tom Barkhuizen needed a 'rest' from starting every game but is now ready to return to the starting eleven.
"When you're a young lad who's 18, comes in and has not really played games at the level he's been playing at - he has shown such an increase in ability and performances that he just started to plateau off a little bit and you have to recognise that sometimes," said Pitman.
"So we pulled him out and drip-fed him back in and he's looked very sharp again and desperate to get back in.
"So that's something you have to consider. The rest has been good for him and if he comes back in then I'm sure he'll be where he was when he left off."
