The Season for a Good Cup Run

It's the first round of the FA Cup this weekend and Hereford United are playing old foes Yeovil Town at Edgar Street this afternoon.

This 'Cup' season is an important one for the Bulls. Firstly it will be 40 years since their world famous defeat of Newcastle United and various events are planned to celebrate that great win.

Secondly, the club is hopeful that the Sportsman Club will re-open in January and so will be up and running to welcome former players from that 1971/72 season back to Edgar Street.

So a decent cup run this season would help publicise the planned celebrations. even better if the club could get to the third perhaps even the fourth round and draw Newcastle United. The chances are slim but it could happen. Now that would be some celebration.

But first Yeovil has to be dispatched from the competition this afternoon.

Good support for the Bulls might help and with adult prices cut to just £12 to seat and £10 to stand, there's no reason not to get behind the team this afternoon.
