Relentless Second Half For Bulls Thought Pitman

Despite losing 1-0 to Crewe this afternoon, Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman felt the Bulls created a number of good chances especially in a 'relentless second half' for his side. However when questioned about the change of formation of the team he dismissed a view that it was because of pressure from supporters.

"I haven't gone 4-4-2 because the supporters have asked," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"I've gone 4-4-2 because the personnel today suited us.

"We left Nathan out as we felt we might be better off retaining possession up there and it certainly worked for us today.

"For me it was a relentless second half, I don't think they really got into our half."

Delroy Facey and Yoann Arquin started up front.

"I thought Arquin was our outstanding performer today along with Delroy who hasn't had much football lately.

"I thought those two were excellent throughout."

Pitman spoke about the chances in the game.

"We've got to make more of our chances. We can't deny we've got to make more of those opportunities and set-piece opportunities that are crucial to us."

Crewe had just one shot on target in the whole game.

"It was a fine strike from the lad.

"He's had a little bit too much room but he's absolutely smashed it.

"From where I stood Cornell got an arm on it. It would have been a world-class save if he had got it."
