Northampton have parted company with manager Gary Johnson after a dismal time in charge of the club.
The former Yeovil man won just seven of 34 games in charge at Sixfields, with his reign ending with a loss to Conference side Luton in the FA Cup. The Cobblers were play-off contenders pre-season but find themselves down in 20th place in the table, only three points clear of the bottom two. Prior to his dismissal, Johnson told the press that their loss to Luton would likely mean they would have to cut their wage bill to balance the books.
Assistant boss David Lee will take temporary charge, assisted by player/coach Andy Holt.
