News Round-Up

Wrexham's current owners say the FA have placed demands on them for guarantees 'over and above what is the norm in English law' in order for the proposed sale of the club to go ahead, with the Supporters Trust proposing to form a new company to take the club forward. The current owners have proposed a solution to the situation to the Supporters Trust, and say they will not write an 'open cheque' as the FA are currently demanding.

Kidderminster have signed veteran midfielder Lee Hendrie on non-contract terms. The 34 year old had a brief spell at Bradford last term, and has spent the last two months with Southern League side Daventry. Macclesfield have signed Chesterfield utility man Dan Gray on loan for an initial month. The 21 year old spent the second half of last season at Moss Rose. The Silkmen have also extended the loan of striker Scott Boden for a second month.

Cheltenham are set to sell two youngsters from their youth setup to Everton. Brothers Tyrone and Courtney Duffus will join the Premier League side after the two clubs agreed a compensation package. Former Bulls keeper Wayne Brown was sent off last night in only his second appearance for Oxford. The player/coach was dismissed for handling outside the box, leaving midfielder Asa Hall to take over in goal. Southend won the JPT match 1-0.

In other Johnstones Paint Trophy matches last night Barnet won 2-0 at Cheltenham with Mark Marshall scoring the opener, Oldham beat Crewe 3-1, Bradford beat Sheff Utd on penalties, and Swindon beat Wimbledon on penalties. Former Bulls striker Leon Constantine has signed for Ryman League side Tooting and Mitcham. The 33 year old has already played for Braintree and Lewes this season.
