Getting knocked out of the FA Cup in the first round will not help the finances of Hereford United this season.
Not only will there be no winning money, Yeovil will receive £18,500, but the gate receipts will be miminal once Yeovil and the FA have had their cut.
And to top it all there's speculation that the Bulls will have to pick up the tab for getting keeper Dave Cornell to Armenia so he can join the rest of the Welsh Under 21 squad, who travelled out yesterday.
Hereford United took the decision to cut admission prices to the game so, assuming an average price of £8, the total income will be less than £20,000. On top of that in the £8 will be an element of season ticket holders who were not charged to watch the game this afternoon.
The Bulls are unlikely to gross more than £5,000 from the game.
Last season the Bulls, with Jamie Pitman in charge, got to the fourth round and a money spinning tie at Sheffield Wednesday. The total receipts from the run could have brought in the best part of £200,000.
To have gone out at the first hurdle is a real disappointment both on and off the pitch.
