Defender Andy Todd has joined Hereford United on non-contract terms.
37 year old Todd, whose clubs include Blackburn and Derby, has recently been training with Port Vale.
He was released by Oldham at the end of last season.
The move to Edgar Street appears to have happened quite quickly. Last Tuesday Port Vale assistant manager Mark Grew mentioned him in an article.
"Andy asked to come into training, and playing for the reserves will do him a favour as there may be scouts at the game," said Grew. "But there's nothing on the table for him here at the moment."
According to the OS Todd will be available for selection for the game against Bradford.
Bringing in Todd will give manager Jamie Pitman extra cover in defence especially given that captain Stefan Stam didn't appear 100% fit last Saturday at Swindon and could be a doubt for this weekend.
