Peter Reid has left rock bottom Plymouth, the club have announced.
The former Sunderland boss was appointed to the job in June 2010, but has seen his tenure blighted by their financial problems. He won just 16 of 61 games in charge, and losing the last eight League matches.
While the official statement doesn't exactly indicate whether he walked, or was pushed, it infers that the decision was made by acting chairman Peter Ridsdale:
'It is crucial that we give ourselves time to attempt to preserve Football League status and therefore it is felt that a change of manager now is the only option.'
The club say it will announce it's interim managerial position within the next 24 hours.
