Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman was full of praise for substitute Yoann Arquin after he scored the only goal of the tie in extra time to put Brentford out of the Carling Cup.
"It's great to have someone like that on the bench," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"That's what I'm looking for to strengthen the squad with players like that.
"He's great to have because he stretched the game, he's quick and he wants to score goals.
"He's a great asset for us."
Pitman thought that the fitness of his squad had helped.
"We came under the cosh in the first half but we rode out the storm and we've managed to nick one at the end.
"Pre-season was about getting them fit and I would say that we finished the stronger in the end.
"That is credit to us as a coaching staff and credit to the players for the hard work that they have put in."
Meanwhile questions have been asked about the way the possession stats were collated last night. The OS has published that Hereford had just 30% of possession during the game. BN has not published this figure in its reports as it is plainly incorrect.
The Press Association are responsible for providing the stats.
