Pitman to gain his UEFA A-Licence

Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has been in Cardiff this week hopefully gaining his UEFA A-Licence.

"They have been long days, starting at 9.30 in the morning and finishing at 9.30 at night," Pitman told the Hereford Times.

"There are 22 of us on the course from all backgrounds including Oxford manager Chris Wilder and Gareth Davies."

Pitman also confirmed that Rob Purdie is expected to sign a new deal when he returns from holiday later this week.

"But I expect it to be quiet on the transfer front for the next couple of weeks."

Meanwhile the HT carries an interview with chairman David Keyte in which the Hereford United chairman reveals that his wife Lorraine wasn't very happy when he took over at Edgar Street but has now said it was the right thing for him to do.

"It's been a brilliant project for me, personally," said Keyte.

"I am not sure I knew what being a chairman of a professional football club would be like.

"The work never stops - my phone went off at 12.30am the other night and it was Jamie Pitman with a text message.

"If you are going to be successful in business, you won't get there by working 9am to 5pm."

Finally Pitman has confirmed that both Russell Hoult, his assistant and Dave Bevan, coach, will be at Edgar Street next season.

"I'm delighted that they are both staying," said Pitman.
