Amidst other items discussed at the Hereford United AGM was the problem with Rob Purdie playing at Torquay when allegedly not registered in time.
The chairman, David Keyte, said he would take up the case with the Football League. However it might be a month before a decision is known.
The club was very pleased with the standard of catering at Edgar Street this season. One of their first tasks on taking over was to agree a settlement with the previous caterers, Lindley, and a deal was agreed whereby the club had to make a payment to them to quit.
The chairman made reference to transfer fees. He disclosed that when Toumani Diagouraga was sold by Graham Turner to Peterborough for £260,000, the club were only paid £10K per month. When 'Dave' was sold onto Brentford the outstanding amount was then settled.
The club has received £80K from the sale of Marc Pugh to Bournemouth so far. Another £20k is possible depending on appearances.
It was noted by a shareholder that in the accounts the shop sales were barely higher than purchases, however the Chairman felt that side of the club could make close to £20k this year. The sale of the Bullieve shirts, whilst only making £1 or so each had helped generate other interest in shop goods.
The only slight note of dissent in the meeting came when the names of Peter Hill and Michael Roberts, former directors, were mentioned. One shareholder felt their appointment as senior vice-presidents was an 'awful' title for them despite the fact that they had agreed to forgo the £10K each owed to them. The chairman took note and apologised for the title.
In conclusion a very informative evening where no subject was off limits and everyone was made warmly welcome.
