Jamie Pitman, manager of Hereford United, admitted that the Bulls lacked a bit of quality today.
"We were a bit lacklustre today," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We didn't quite have the end quality today. We didn't play as well as we should have done.
"I thought Lincoln just sat there and made it difficult and credit to them they've done a good job."
Pitman brought new loan signing Harry Pell on in the second half.
"He's a big strong lad, gets on the ball. He's done very well at Bristol Rovers.
"We want competition for places and hopefully that's what he is going to bring us."
Asked whether he might rotate the squad for Tuesday's game against Macclesfield Pitman said he could.
"But the danger is if you get into rotating it, leaving people out, people get frustrated."
