Wayne Brown's South African adventure appears to be coming to an end after his side brought in a two-time championship winner as a replacement.
Supersport United signed Rowen Fernandez during the January transfer window with Brown not playing since. Fernandez won the SA Premiership twice with former club Amakhosi, but joined a Supersport side languishing near the foot of the table despite being reigning champions.
Brown, who hasn't played since the late-January transfer, has been the subject of rumours about his future. He was rumoured to be set for release when Fernandez arrived, but a club spokesman told the local press: 'It's not true that we wanted to release Brown; at the club we respect the player's contract. Maybe we will do that at the end of the season.'
Brown, who turned 34 last month, played a total of 132 times for the Bulls over three seasons until 2008 when he opted to move north to be near his daughter.
