Tomight's League Two action saw wins for Shrewsbury and Aldershot.
The Shrews won 3-1 at Accrington with new signing James Collins scoring twoce, while Aldershot beat Bradford 1-0 at the Rec in a game that saw ex-Bull Tim Sills return to the Shots as a late sub.
Both home teams recorded their worst attendances of the season. Seven of the 24 League Two sides have now hit that low in the last ten days offering a warning of tough times ahead for football teams.
In the Conference Luton hammered York 5-0 in what was billed as a grudge match in the wake of the bickering that has gone on between the clubs since their infamous play-off match last term. Ex-Bulls keeper Michael Ingham was sent off after just 15 minutes and the Minstermen ended the game with just nine players. Crawley are top after winning 2-0 at Bath, with AFC Wimbledon held 1-1 at Fleetwood. Ominously, Crawley have at least two games in hand on all their rivals.
