Bulls boss Jamie Pitman has confirmed to the BBC that the Bulls have made an offer to Burton for Tony James.
He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "Tony is the sort of player we would be interested in. He has a club at the moment. We have shown Burton we have an interest and it's up to them to make a decision."
On Wednesday Burton boss Paul Peschisolido said he had had no offers, but the Derby Telegraph had reported a move for the veteran defender last week.
