News Round Up

Stockport are set for a string of new signings after the Football League relaxed financial rules that were imposed on the club following their Administration last season. They have offered a contract to former Shrewsbury defender Danny O'Donnell and are trying to sign former regular James Smith and an unnamed full back from a League One side.

Bradford have signed Oldham midfielder Jon Worthington on loan for a month. After last night's loss to Crewe, manager Peter Taylor admitted that they were in a fight to save their season after their fourth straight defeat. Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner has called the agent of defender Dean Holden 'a bit out of order' after he told the press the player was available to leave the club. Turner says the player won't leave unless they sign a replacement.

A takeover of Kidderminster is back on the radar of businessman Chris Swan. Swan's return to the fray comes after former chairman Dave Reynolds wrote off the loans that were the stumbling point over Swan's previous bid. Swan has tabled an offer to buy the club for £1 and put in £150,000 to cover losses for the remainder of the season, while a second bid from a consortium is also in the offing. Any deal is likely to see striker Chris McPhee remain at the club.

Aldershot have continued their Conference acquisitions with the signing of Tamworth forward Alex Rodman on a two and a half year deal. The 23 year old scored a hat-trick in manager Dean Holdsworth's final game in charge at Newport. Leaving the Rec is veteran midfielder Glenn Little. The 35 year old is seeking regular football.
