Reading manager Brian McDermott said that he was pleased with how former Hereford United striker Mathieu Manset performed in his thirty minutes or so on the pitch this afternoon for the Royals.
"He hardly knew anybody and had to have his boots driven down from Hereford!," McDermott told the Reading OS.
"Before games we always do a video of our last three or four games and I asked our analyst Lucy to add a few goals of his on top. It was a nice touch and it showed he can finish, he's going to be a decent player.
"Once we get him fit, you never know. He was tidy in possession, he's big, strong, we need to get him fit and he's got talent, no doubt. He's a good lad, he wanted to come here and I think he'll do smashing."
