Fleetwood pleased with Goal

Hereford United striker Stuart Fleetwood was pleased to get on the score card at Edgar Street this afternoon. It was his sixth goal of the season.

"I saw the ball bounce and I think a defender hestitated a little bit," Fleets told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"So luckily I got a little toe on it and jabbed it past the keeper and into an open net.

"I was happy with that as I'd chased it down and worked quite hard for it so I was glad to see it go in."

Looking back at the game Fleets admitted that Torquay had the better of the first half.

"We didn't come out the blocks at all. We tried to start with a high tempo but for the first twenty minutes we didn't get a kick.

"2-1 (to Torquay) at half-time was probably fair but we showed great character to get back into the game."

The Bulls second goal was a back-heel by Mathieu Manset after the Gulls keeper had spilled the ball.

"Great improvisation. We see it all the time in training from Manny.

"Second half he came alive and what we need him to do for the full ninety minutes for us because when he does it he is unplayable in this league."

Manager Jamie Pitman had called on the side to 'close out matches' after losing at Wycombe to a late goal.

"I think when the second goal went in we all had a little look at each other. Lennie Lawrence has instilled that in us.

"We need to take every point we can get at the moment. Instead of looking for the win we're probably happy with the point today."
